Random Number Generator

Generate truly random numbers in any range — for raffles, giveaways, games, samples and fair picks.

What is this tool?

Need a fair, unbiased pick? This random number generator produces numbers using your browser's cryptographic random source — the same quality of randomness used for security — so results are not predictable patterns. Set any minimum and maximum, choose how many numbers you need, and optionally require all of them to be unique.

Common uses include picking a winning comment in a social-media giveaway, drawing raffle or door-prize winners at events, assigning random samples for a school science project, generating lottery quick-picks for fun, and choosing who goes first in a game. Because generation happens on your device, you can use it live in front of an audience with total transparency.

How to use it

  1. Enter the minimum and maximum values of your range.
  2. Enter how many numbers to generate.
  3. Check 'no duplicates' if every number must be different, then click Generate.

Formula & method

Each number is drawn uniformly from the full range using crypto.getRandomValues, so every value between your minimum and maximum (inclusive) has exactly the same chance of appearing. With the no-duplicates option, draws repeat until the requested count of distinct numbers is reached.

Worked example

For a 200-entry giveaway, set the range from 1 to 200 and generate one number — say it lands on 137, and entry number 137 wins. For a five-number lottery-style pick from 1 to 50 with no duplicates, the same tool returns five distinct numbers in one click.

Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers really random?

Yes. They come from your operating system's cryptographic random generator via the browser, which is designed to be unpredictable — far better than the pseudo-random patterns of a simple math formula.

Can I generate numbers with no repeats?

Yes. Check the 'no duplicates' option. Just note the count cannot exceed the size of your range — you cannot pick 10 unique numbers from a range of 1 to 5.

Can I use this for an official raffle?

For casual and promotional drawings it is ideal and transparent. For legally regulated raffles, check your state's rules — some require certified drawing methods or permits.
